How the Forklift Collision Avoidance System Works
The SF-422 uses five independent AI cameras paired with a deep learning algorithm developed specifically for forklifts. Together they provide continuous 360° surround detection of pedestrians, vehicles, and obstacles around the truck — in front, behind, and along both sides.
When a pedestrian enters a preset safety distance, the system responds in stages:
- Safe Zone — normal operation, continuous monitoring
- Warning Zone — audible and visual warnings triggered
- Braking Zone — the system automatically limits speed or initiates braking
Detection distances are configurable at 5 m, 10 m, and 15 m, giving safety managers the flexibility to match protection zones to aisle width, traffic density, and site layout. Speed control and overspeed warning. Wireless wheel speed sensors monitor real-time vehicle speed. When overspeed is detected, the system issues voice alerts and automatically limits acceleration, reducing the risk of high-speed impacts in pedestrian zones.
Driver behavior and access management. AI-based driver monitoring detects unsafe behaviors such as fatigue or distraction. Forklift access can be restricted through face recognition or QR authorization, ensuring only trained operators can start the vehicle.
Video recording for safety review. Multi-channel HD video recording provides visual evidence for incident review, safety training, and compliance management.
